Welcome to My Blog!

As a photographer, I am romanticized by the smallest things... my portraits are about relationships: intimate, loving, imperfect and endlessly beautiful.  Weddings are a strength for me because they combine all of these traits of life into one glorious event. But I love to photograph anything from portraits of children, Seniors, Pets and even Boudoir images!

Some of my images are whimsical, some of my images are sentimental. All of my images are sincere... active and always filled with life. I both graduated from the University of Georgia in 2005 with a BFA in Photography and have been photographing for around 5 years as a full time profession.

The images that I create for my clients will last for generations: they are once in a lifetime moments, glances and gestures.  We
specialize natural portrait, wedding and bridal photography. I love what I do and I am lucky to do it.

Recently, I've discovered that I love to create custom comissioned painted portraits for clients.  My intrepretive drawings are usually very playful and colorful and are hand painted in photoshop.   Very much one of a kind.

Please get to know me by being my friend on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/JessicaHorwitzPhotography).

As a person, I am many things... I am an avid reader, a lover of travel (which tends to be day and weekend trips these days with such a busy schedule) an EXTREME lover of pets and animals and a singer songwriter.  I even play in a band when time permits and my musical hobby is of of my favorite things to do.  (You can check me out at LilyOfTheSuburbs.com or on Facebook (Lily of the Suburbs) )

Shawn and Tommy’s Newlywed Portraits at Home

I met Shawn and Tommy at Shawn’s childhood home to make casual portraits of them in the immediate weeks following their wedding, as a newly married couple! We started our shoot in her favorite room, the parlor. I really love the dramatic subtleties of some of these portraits. The window light in the parlor created the perfect atmosphere for some environmental portraits of the two of them adorably lounged. Throughout our casual session, I lightly posed them sometimes, but also allowed them to pose themselves as well. I love to make images that really are relevant for a couple and show off their tiny little moments of love. To me, these are playful and soft, fun and romantic… and of such a stunning and happy couple!!

Elise Walker - These photographs are wonderful! I didn't know about "newlywed portraits" before. Since I was not satisfied with my wedding pictures, perhaps I can make up for it by hiring a real professional to take our portraits in our new home. Thanks for giving me an idea!October 24, 2009 - 1:40 am

Shawn Ferrara - Tommy and I were so thrilled from our photo session with Jessica. We could not be happier with how they turned out. Jessica is so talented and a pleasure to work with. We look forward to many more sessions together! Shawn FerraraOctober 2, 2009 - 10:56 am
