Welcome to My Blog!

As a photographer, I am romanticized by the smallest things... my portraits are about relationships: intimate, loving, imperfect and endlessly beautiful.  Weddings are a strength for me because they combine all of these traits of life into one glorious event. But I love to photograph anything from portraits of children, Seniors, Pets and even Boudoir images!

Some of my images are whimsical, some of my images are sentimental. All of my images are sincere... active and always filled with life. I both graduated from the University of Georgia in 2005 with a BFA in Photography and have been photographing for around 5 years as a full time profession.

The images that I create for my clients will last for generations: they are once in a lifetime moments, glances and gestures.  We
specialize natural portrait, wedding and bridal photography. I love what I do and I am lucky to do it.

Recently, I've discovered that I love to create custom comissioned painted portraits for clients.  My intrepretive drawings are usually very playful and colorful and are hand painted in photoshop.   Very much one of a kind.

Please get to know me by being my friend on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/JessicaHorwitzPhotography).

As a person, I am many things... I am an avid reader, a lover of travel (which tends to be day and weekend trips these days with such a busy schedule) an EXTREME lover of pets and animals and a singer songwriter.  I even play in a band when time permits and my musical hobby is of of my favorite things to do.  (You can check me out at LilyOfTheSuburbs.com or on Facebook (Lily of the Suburbs) )

Robin and Dotan’s Engagement Session at Home

There is always something so sacred and special to me about the home space… when we make Engagement Portraits for our clients, we are creating a narrative of their everyday experience with each other.   Space informs that relationship clearly  and with Robin and Dotan we were able to work at her childhood home to create memories for them that are truly meaningful.

Robin is a particularly special client to me as well as a dear friend.  She and Dotan currently reside in Israel, although they will be married here in Georgia.  In May of 2006, I spent about 10 days in Israel with the Birthright Israel tours.  Robin was my guide and when I unfortunately ended up in the hospital, she stayed with me providing comfort and friendship through a very trying and scary time.  Her character is phenomenally kind and generous and I am so thrilled to be able to make these portraits for them to keep as heirlooms.  And so I post these, with so much love… for a couple that is a wonderful gift to this world.

Shahar - Jessica, I've known Dotan since high school, and Robin for almost six years now. The photos are beautiful. They truly capture the essence of "Robin & Dotan" and it seems like everybody involved in the shooting had a great time. This is to show the huge difference between a random professional photographer and a professional photographer who knows you and really cares about you. Choosing only one photo for the "save the date" card will not be easy!May 21, 2009 - 4:21 am

CYNDY NEWCOMER - Jessica - I am Robin's mother. Your photos are SO beautiful - both Robin's step-dad and I cried when we saw them, especially with the music added. We called Robin and Dotan immediately and told them they had DEFINITELY chosen the right photographer. You are very talented and very sweet to have written what you wrote about our beautiful Robin and her sweet future husband. Thank you! Cyndy NewcomerMay 19, 2009 - 2:54 pm

Snotacles, on line - I have also liked these pictures very much. I will watch them while I drink coffee. I always drink coffee while I watch pictures. Maybe I'll have a donut also. Take care.May 19, 2009 - 1:32 pm

Robin and Dotan - Jessica, What you wrote is so sweet. It is a pleasure knowing you and having you in our lives. During the photo shoot both you and Faith made us feel so comfortable in front of the camera (a place that we've never really been before...), and when we saw the pictures we were just so pleased and happy. You both really did such a great job in capturing us, our story and the way we see each other! As a few of our friends told us after seeing the photos - we have set a really high standard for the wedding itself now. We are positive you'll make it happen! Thank you, and we can't wait to see you again in the fall, Robin and DotanMay 19, 2009 - 2:02 am
