Happy Spring!

Hi Blog World!! I hope that everyone has had as nice of a Spring as I have here. I have so many great things to mention in the photo world front, including all of our upcoming and current publications (Jezebel, EcoWedding.com and the Knot). In January, I was part of one of my favorite projects yet, Science Photographer for Emory’s Chemistry Department. Our 2012 Portrait Days have started off with a bang over the last few weeks and I can’t wait to see what our April dates will bring. We have already filled up and closed off 2 of the April dates, with new dates and locations on the way. Little ones with their Families and Senior portraits have so far been our most frequent visitors. It has been so joyful to spend so much time outdoors with the Spring flowers. (And opaque clouds of pollen?!?!??)

2011 Portrait Days and Holiday Cards

What an exciting last few weeks we have had, with all of our fall Portrait Days and an awesome run on Groupon. ! Lol. Yes, totally ended up being a good idea. I haven’t time really to make full posts from all of these sessions, but I will soon. In the meantime, here are a selection of some of my favorite holiday cards we have been creating for our awesome clients. Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Our cards are flat 5x7s with images on the front and the back. And super, super adorable.

Suzanne and Vincent’s Save the Date designs | Engagement Portraits at Virginia Highlands

I have but a mere second to post, so I will post something well worth your time. Suzanne is researching her options for Save the Dates with her engagement portraits, so I created some custom layouts for her from her images. I super love design work and it these designs took me about one hour to create both. Right now, I am loving that my lab offers these die cut cards… I have them set for the Holiday Cards I am about to release and also LOVE, LOVE them on Save the Dates. Have a nice week!

Danielle’s Bridal Portraits | Lake Lanier Resort, Ga

I think that Bridal Portrait Sessions might be some of my favorite types of images to create. Working with Danielle is always awesome, she is such a stunner, especially with the camera. These Bridal Portraits at Lake Lanier Resort featured both of her beautiful wedding gowns. The reception dress we shot indoors in the main lobby and the ceremony dress we shot outdoors with the lake and the bridge at sunset.

Congrats to the lovely couple, married yesterday!! Wedding photography to come soon…

Alison’s Bridal Portraits | Rhodes Hall, Atlanta GA

I think that Alison’s Bridal session might be my favorite yet. Some of these whimsical, fairy-tale castle bridal portraits are so dreamy… Rhodes Hall in midtown is the perfect spot for such romance, and having a bride as stunning as Alison only makes it better. I love it!!

Alison’s wedding was yesterday at the Whitlock Inn in Marietta… congrats to the newlyweds!

Law Firm Portraits | Business Portraits Atlanta GA

For the Bird Law Group, we wanted to create a series of both headshot and narrative portraits for branding and promotional use. These business portraits are for use in both print and web materials. As a firm photographer, I am creating images that create an intimate personality portrait of a brand: friendly and accessible, but still professional. We did a combination of portraits in their office in Atlanta. Some of the images are more photojournalistic in nature, others are contemporary and posed. As an objective, I want the Bird Law Group to be able to have images that will help their clients get to know them by viewing these law firm portraits.

Robin, Halie and Maddie Pet Portraits | Dog Portraits, Piedmont Park Atlanta

I love dogs. I love their smiles and I love how very different each one is. I think part of the challenge for me with pet portraits is capturing the emotion carried with dogs. Stoic, curious and playful dog portraits.

We shot these in a shady area of Piedmont Park, water and treats on hand. Following the smells, leaning in for a high five.
