I am going to start here with some Senior Portraits for the 2011 Graduating Class and I’ll do a couple this week, then, I am going to try next week to post weddings that have not been posted but should have been!

The kids portraits were such a blast to work with and these portraits are just so, so adorable. We ended up having some wall composites made for their family to display at home, as well as some enlargements for over their mantle.

AND a 20×24 of the custom watercolor painting I made for their family! Katherine (mom) expressed interest in my completely imagined, interpretive drawings after seeing my previous one on my blog, so I could not help but make one for their family as well. I love to make these paintings… they are done in photoshop, and crafted to be printed large. They are completely hand painted with photoshop 5′s new painting utilities.

And here are some close-up, details to really get a feel for the quality and interaction they will have in their home environment. We are having this printed on a deckle edged, watercolor paper and float mounted in a black museum frame and mat. So exciting…

This means… that paintings are available for all! Completely custom portrait paintings come wholly from my imagination: they are roughly based on one of my portraits, but really feature my own made up world of doodles and whimsical shapes and patterns.

I have been so busy with all of this shooting throughout wedding season… I can’t wait to post all of these beautiful weddings we have been working on lately. Leslie and Brad were wed at the Park Tavern, in downtown Atlanta. I was completely enchanted by her pearl details and soft palette. What an elegant bride she is!

I apparently have found a new love. Photoshop painting. Seriously. Photoshop 5 comes with a painting palate… you have brushes that respond to both the pressure of your brush on your tablet, as well as the orientation of your wrist. You clean your brush when it is time for a new color. You can select how wet the brush is. And I am having a complete wave of creativity as a result… see specimen A: my new portrait of Kathleen and Arjan. You will see the original version of this photograph at the bottom of the post. Most of the information here is completely invented. I have taken the doodles I have been doing on sticky notes on my desk and applied them directly to my portraits. Combining them both into painting/drawings! Awesome.

I was partly inspired to craft this piece because of how amazing Kathleen and Arjan are. They have been incredible to work with across the board, from their super fun engagement portraits, to their really beautiful wedding in Athens. Check out Kathleen’s Vintage Dress in her portraits… it really is one of a kind, and it just suits her so well. She is also a photographer and so we like to talk shop a bunch, too!

I love when people bring their pets… Stephanie and Adam were such a cool couple to work. We moved through several different spaces during our shoot … from the skyline end of Piedmont Park to the cool buildings behind Park Tavern… They danced for my camera and let me play with some really exciting shadow ideas for more environmental portraits. I am super thrilled with how they came out! Really looking forward to your wedding, guys!!

I always love gazing out at the city from their windows… the little polka dots of cars and buildings. We shot these images on a really sunshiny day and it was just a beautiful view. Corporate Headshot and Portrait packages happen in your office, provided you are within metro-Atlanta.
